- Program Assistant - Challenge & LINK High School Program

Position
Summary
Portland
State University is seeking applications for a highly motivated
and experienced administrator to serve as the Program Assistant
for two high school programs, the Challenge Program which
teaches PSU courses at the high school site, and the LINK
Young Scholars Program which provides scholarships and support
and to high school students taking PSU Classes on campus.
Under the direction of the Program Director, he/she will
be responsible for creating, implementing, coordinating,
and managing systems and processes in support of these programs,
initiating and building key relationships internally and
externally, coordinating workshops, campus visits, and special
events, and financial activities. Portland State encourages

Essential
Duties and Responsibilities
-
Initiates
and builds relationships with a diverse population, including
university administration, faculty and PSU community,
high school and school district partners, students, and
parents, colleagues in similar programs, and the community
at large.

Coordinates
and monitors all aspects of the Challenge Program, including
cyclical registration, setting up courses, providing packets
to high schools, managing the payment process, monitoring
the registrations in banner, communicating with high school
instructors and faculty partners, participating in Parents'
Nights and special events.

Coordinates
and monitors all aspects of the LINK Program, including
application, registration, orientations, fee remissions,
grade reviews

In
collaboration with Director, conceptualizes, institutes,
reviews, and maintains procedures, systems, marketing
plans, and collateral material in support of both programs.

Coordinates
events for both programs, including LINK orientations
and Challenge workshops.

Supervises
student employees.

Is
responsible for all accounting, contracts, and business
transactions. Provides monthly budget reports to Director.

Other
duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's
degree.
- Minimum
3 years administrative experience.
- Minimum
1 year of program/project management experience (or
demonstrated ability to take on projects with little
supervision).
- Technological
and computer proficiency, particularly in capturing,
organizing and analyzing data.
- Must
successfully complete a background check.
Preferred
Qualifications
- Demonstrated
outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Keen
sense of judgment and ability to know what to do in
uncharted territory
- Supervisory
experience
- Familiarity
with Banner System
- Accounting
and budgetary experience
- Experience
working in high school setting
Compensation
Competitive
salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
